Private Cloud Software Conflicts in Installation Environment
7/1/2022 - Cloudmersive Support

When installing Cloudmersive Private Cloud, existing security software on your server may reduce or interfere with your performance or functionality.

Performance Impacting

The following products can degrade Cloudmersive Private Cloud server performance.

Carbon Black

We recommend disabling Carbon Black if possible. Older versions of Carbon Black have a known issue that prevents Docker from running normally (which is required); you should ensure that your Carbon Black version is up to date, as described here:

Palo Alto Networks Cortex XDR

We recommend disabling Palo Alto Networks Cortex XDR on the host server if possible.

Windows Defender

For Windows Defender, you can setup exclusions which may improve performance; to do this, run the following commands from an Administrator PowerShell:

Set-MpPreference -ExclusionPath 'C:\cloudmersive'
Set-MpPreference -ExclusionPath 'C:\ProgramData\Docker'
Set-MpPreference -MAPSReporting Disabled
PowerShell Set-MpPreference -SubmitSamplesConsent 2

CrowdStrike Windows Sensor

Some configurations of CrowdStrike will block the initial install but not operation of Private Cloud. If this happens, the customer can temporarily disable CrowdStrike during the installation process, and then re-enable once installation is completed.
